OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational Therapy aims to enable participation in meaningful and purposeful occupations. For a child, their main occupation is play.
When working within a paediatric setting, occupational therapists may work with children, their families and relevant networks (e.g., other allied health practitioners or educational settings) to facilitate achievement of goals set by the child and/or their caregiver/parent.
Occupational therapy intervention may be perceived as playful and common sense, however, sessions are shaped by identified clinical need/s, evidence-based practice and the commitment of all involved.
